Islam - a new perspective

Dear Muslim    Salaam and welcome to you, if you have come to this page via a search engine. However, you should know that this page is by Christians and aimed at Christians who love you and are concerned about your faith and eternal salvation. The object is to help Christians to engage with the claims made for Islam and its criticisms of the authority of the Bible. However many Muslims have found that the rebalancing of traditional arguments have been really beneficial in revealing errors that had been concealed to them, so we would be delighted if you worked through this page.

The older presentation on Islam - for Christians "Islam" sought to explain world events involving Islam in terms evidence and explanation of Islamic teaching. Responses to this page suggest that some Muslims are not happy about the picture that emerges. A separate page, "Dear Muslim" attempts to meet that need.

Challenging - debating - arguing Islam

Are the foundational texts of Islam really what they claim to be?

Thus far, wildolive has taken Islam's texts and history at face value when discussing what Islam is doing in the world today.

Christian evangelism of Muslims through Bible preaching has not been outstandingly successful, as Muslims claim to have a better prophet, a greater god and a divinely given and uncorrupted holy book.

Some (few) Christians have engaged Muslims in honest discussion using apologetics but the fruits have been disappointing. Dr Jay Smith has probably been the greatest exponent of this approach but has now moved to using Polemics based on deep scholastic research, and the outcome is surprising and dynamic. His presentations on this new approach are well worth studying - more than once - as there is so much evidence to cover in the time available. There are also further presentations on this matter by Dr Smith. Check out his Pfander Films YouTube channel.

Two New Findings That Mohammed Didn't Exist | Dr. Jay Smith

This new strategy holds the promise of making much greater headway with Muslims who are prepared to discuss honestly

Part 2

Some key points to watch for in these talks

Islam and Christianity can and should be looked at in terms of The man, the place, the Book.

This has been done, validating Christianity, but has not been done for Islam - until recently.

Mohammed the man can be verified (or not) by documentary records, contemporary references , archaeology etc

Mecca and Medina can be verified (or not) from documents, appearances in early accounts and archaeological evidence.

The Koran, as the inerrant, unchanged, heaven sent truth can be checked out by finding and comparing texts and fragment from the most ancient to the most recent.

Account must be taken of the language(s) of the earliest texts and the evolution of Arabic from the date given for Mohammed through later versions. (eg the introduction of vowels and diacratic points)

The presence of significant leaders and places can be traced in coinage and inscriptions in stone. (more likely to survive than writings) What references are found to Mohammed - the most revolutionary man of his age?

What evidence can be found for the significance of Mecca and Medina - even in Koran texts? And what archaeological evidence exists in Mecca and Medina?

If there is one unchanged and accurate Koran where is it, which version is it and when was it produced. (a clue - Twentieth century)

While discussing the purity of the Koran's language, ponder this. How many of the worlds Muslims can read Arabic?

To be reviewed and revised.

Important!

If Islam can save its followers from condemnation, Jesus died for nothing and was deluded when he said, "I am the way the truth and the life. No man comes to the Father except by me." If Jesus was right, the Muslims need Jesus and we will be withholding salvation from them if we deny the uniqueness of our gospel in order to be "inclusive" and politically correct.

Wildolive, through this page, is not seeking to incite Islamophobia or racial/religious hatred, but urging Christians to be aware of the reality behind Islam. We have a saviour who has won the victory and we must trust in Him. Over two billion souls (in 2025) are being failed by Islam and need our saviour - they need our prayers.

Note that militant Islam in western nations is growing very aggressive in propagating its "victimized minority" role. It is strange to see an intolerant religion using our western tolerance to stifle our exptessions of faith. Seeking protection through legislation would play straight into their hands. Street evangelists are already being arrested for preaching Jesus if some Muslims claim to be offended, but honest and loving discussion of the historicity of Jesus and Mohammed has benefitted fair minded Muslims..
